FET Transfer Day! - NOT

WOW!! This was an eventful day! The goal for today was to have WenTing's (2) "5 day" embryos transferred this afternoon. We found out last night that Express Labs in Idaho Falls did not faxed over my blood work from 2 days ago like ordered and we needed to go back into New Hope early and have my blood redrawn. So we woke up early and off to NYC we drove. I think that all three of us were a little anxious and excited about the day. Jeff drove us into the city and I admired all of the beautiful buildings and architecture. The bridges were amazing and I don't think that I have ever been in a bigger city than NYC!

Jeff dropped us off at the front door of New Hope and went searching for a parking spot. WenTing and I went into the clinic and WenTing checked us in. Within a couple of minutes, one of the coordinators called us back into her office and informed us that they received the blood results from Express Labs in Idaho Falls and they did not look good. It was almost shocking and devastating as she looked at the two of us and told us that it was not a good cycle for the transfer and I would have to try again next month. My mind flashed back over the course of the previous weeks and I knew that I had done everything that was asked of me... While sitting there in a daze like a dear in the headlights, WenTing jumped in and asked to see the results and questioned everything that need to be questioned...

Luckily, they agreed to let us redo the blood work and sonogram that day just to see where my hormone levels were. We knew that we would have to wait for a couple of hours for the results so the three of us went to lunch at a near by French Eatery. It was a beautiful day; eighty degrees outside and blossoms on the trees. We decided after lunch to walk to Central Park and check it out. While on our way there, we received a call from New Hope and they asked us to come back into the office. We were excited to hear that Express Labs had sent the lab work from the wrong date and our new test results proved to be optimal for FET transfer! However, they were having a scheduling issue and potentially wanted us to come back the next day for the transfer. We were concerned about this delay for many reasons. Not only was my plane scheduled to leave at 11 AM the next morning, but we would have to make another trip into the city and WenTing's embryos were 5 day embryos and the next day would be day 6!

We decided to stay in the city in case New Hope called with an opening that afternoon and did a little sight seeing. We visited central park, empire state building, ground 0 of the twin towers, rode the subway and visited time square. Later that afternoon we received a call from New Hope confirming that the transfer would take place the next day at 12:30PM. It was a great day overall and we were exhausted by the time we arrived home that night.
